Production Notes and Trivia

Production started in April 2009 and lasted at least nine weeks.

Carey Mulligan had to learn how to drive for the film. She did a two-week intensive course to eventually do the work, but still failed the driving test. The production team had to shoot the scene on a private road, where she was allowed to get behind the wheel.

The movie was filmed in Norfolk, Clevedon, University of St. Andrews, London and Bath.

Critics Reviews

“The film, adapted from Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel of the same name, stars three of our brightest young actors – Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley. All of them are still only in their mid-20s, yet they have a global reputation that is richly deserved. And all of them are outstanding in never Let Me Go. ” the Daily Telegraph

“Never Let Me Go is the most haunting film about love and death I’ve ever seen.” The Daily Mail
