The Screen Actors Guild Awards just got even more star-studded.

They’ll join previously announced presenters Alec Baldwin, Jason Bateman, Jeff Bridges, Rosario Dawson, Josh Duhamel, Jon Hamm, Angie Harmon, Nicole Kidman, Eva Longoria, Cory Monteith, Amy Poehler, Jeremy Renner, Hilary Swank, Sofia Vergara, Betty White and Robin Wright, among others.
The 17th annual SAG Awards will be presented Sunday at the Shrine Exhibition Center and broadcast live on TBS and TNT.
Well, it started out as a pretty sucky day for Andrew news (even though “The Social Network” did pick up 8 nominations, congrats on that), but here’s a bit of happier news. Though he was a no-show on The Tonight Show and the PGA Awards (heard that he was sick – hope he’s better now!), it was just announced that Andrew will be a presenter at the Directors Guild Awards this Saturday. Hope he makes it!
Carl Reiner will return to host the 63rd annual Directors Guild Awards, taking place this Saturday, DGA president Taylor Hackford announced Tuesday.
This will be Reiner’s 23rd time hosting the awards dinner, set for the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles.
Presenters were also announced for the ceremony: Michael Apted, Kathryn Bigelow, Steve Buscemi, James Cameron, Francis Ford Coppola, Claire Danes, Leonardo DiCaprio, Clint Eastwood, Colin Firth, Jenna Fischer, Andrew Garfield, Armie Hammer, Taylor Hackford, Jennifer Lawrence, Melissa Leo, Helen Mirren, Jim Parsons, Natalie Portman, John Rich, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Julia Stiles and Sofia Vergara.
All five film director nominees — Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan), David Fincher (The Social Network), Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech), Christopher Nolan (Inception) and David O. Russell (The Fighter) — will be in attendance.
Set your DVRs! Andrew will be a guest on The Tonight Show tomorrow night, 11:35pm on NBC. Be sure to watch and check back for full coverage!
On Sunday, Andrew will also be a presenter at the Producer’s Guild Awards. The awards are not televised but there should be a red carpet so we’ll probably get some new pics!
Helen Mirren, Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Andrew Garfield, Amy Adams, Kerry Washington, Jim Parsons, Joe Manganiello, among others will be presenters at the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards, producer and 2011 Producers Guild Awards Chair, Paula Wagner announced today.

Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures), Laura Ziskin (Visionary Award), RealD (Vanguard Award) and Sean Penn (Stanley Kramer Award).
Welcome to awards season! Andrew will probably show up quite a lot of the next couple of months, and especially this week in particular. Tonight he is in New York at the National Board of Review Awards Gala, where “The Social Network” won Best Picture, among other honors. In addition to the Golden Globes on Sunday, Andrew will also likely show up to the Critics Choice Awards on Friday, the BAFTA/LA Awards Tea Party and the AFI Awards Luncheon on Saturday. Phew, and we’re just getting started! Stay tuned as we bring you full coverage of all his appearances!
In addition to being a nominee for Beset Supporting Actor at the Golden Globe Awards this Sunday, Andrew will also be onstage presenting an award! Yay!
The red carpet will be especially crowded at the 68th annual Golden Globes on Sunday at the Beverly Hilton.

They join a previously announced group that includes Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock, Robert Downey Jr., Jennifer Lopez, Helen Mirren, Robert Pattinson and Kevin Spacey.

WHY DOES ALL OF HOLLYWOOD WANT A PIECE OF THE SOCIAL NETWORK’S ANDREW GARFIELD?
THE BREAKOUT STAR OF 2010′S DEFINING MOVIE IS THE NEW BIG-SCREEN SPIDER-MAN AND IS HURTLING TOWARD THE A-LIST. YET THE 27-YEAR-OLD BRIT IS STILL LOATH TO LEAVE BEHIND THE LIFE OF A STRUGGLING ACTOR WHO PUKES BEFORE BIG AUDITIONS. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

Andrew Garfield bent over and began puking his guts out in an alley.
His first movie audition was minutes away, but he wasn’t tossing his cookies because he was nervous. If anything, the future star of The Social Network had been a tad too cavalier.
Garfield, a veteran of two esteemed Hollywood springboards—the British stage and barista training at Starbucks—was barely out of his teens. He’d recently moved from England to California to try his luck with casting agents: That morning he’d rented a car—he hadn’t yet bought his beloved Vespa—and gone out to Venice Beach for his first big-screen tryout.
He had some time to kill. So he wandered out to the basketball courts by the shore—and inspired by White Men Can’t Jump, one of his favorite movies—talked his way into a pickup game. In spite of his slight frame, he played hard and managed to avoid embarrassing himself. When the time came for him to bow out, Garfield started back toward the boardwalk but had to duck into an alley and empty his stomach. “I had to sit there for about 30 minutes—I couldn’t move,” he says. “I was so exhausted. I had my first audition, and my breath smelled terrible. I went through it with my hand over my mouth.” He did not get the part.
Several years later, on a drizzly Saturday morning in November, Garfield is recalling this memory not far from the scene of the slime: We’re taking a stroll along the paint-peeling, hemp-scented, Beat-poetic carnival of the Venice Beach boardwalk, where turbaned guitarists roller-skate past medical-marijuana evaluation centers and shops hawking Botox on the Beach.
Garfield has a fondness for these fringe-y spots that have nothing to do with Hollywood and the whole studio hierarchy. By now he’s hovering vertiginously on the cusp of fame, where he finds himself fielding questions about Oscar buzz and massive starring roles, but he’s nostalgic about a slower, poorer, quieter time when he used to come here alone and wander around, shooting hoops or riding a skateboard on the concrete ramps. “I knew no one. I got to know the city as a solitary individual,” he says. “This old part here, with these ledges—that’s where I used to skate.” Although Garfield grew up outside London, he was born in Los Angeles in 1983, and on returning in 2006 he adopted the Cali surf-and-skate ethos with the passion of a native. Without physical activity, he has a tendency to withdraw and brood. “I think too much,” he says. “Being in my body is much more satisfying than being in my head.” Read the rest of this entry »
